1. Owing to the Chiefs of Staff decision to send

3 Inf. Div. to Middle East, air trooping is fully taken up

during October.

2. I do not feel that any advantage is to be gained

from approaching the Air Ministry for an air lift to carry

requirements,

your full movements from India to Hong Kong, in view of the

difficulty they are already having in meeting the air

trooping programme.

3.

I agree to ive priority to the movere nt of the men

I have,

by sea, but this will only get them to Rangoon. therefore, asked DOG) to approach Admiralty with a view to

getting a lift in HM ships from UK direct to Hong Kong, but

I hear riofficially that such naval ships as are going to

Hong Kong are not likely to be able to carry any large

numbers wyantly.

4.

Individuals who are urgently required can be flown to nong Kong on the trunk route.
